NORTH COUNTRY CINEMA is a director-driven media arts collective based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Since 2005, we have created short and medium-length film and video content strongly rooted in personal storytelling practices. Working with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, the National Film Board of Canada, the Toronto Arts Council, and Telefilm Canada, our projects have won awards and garnered critical acclaim at major festivals around the world. Our mandate is to contribute to the Canadian cultural and artistic landscape through the creation of diverse and original works of film, video, and related media.

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is an inclusive, non-profit, arts-based society that exists to encourage film making as art, reflecting and challenging our changing cultural landscape through production and exhibition of the Filmmaker. The Mission of the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) is to encourage, support and endorse the production and exhibition of film in an artistic, social and cultural context. The CSIF is structured in such a way as to enable filmmakers to learn, develop and practice film making in an environment free from box office pressure, securing an integrity of product and allowing for the development of an indigenous film language.
