This genre-bending mockudrama investigates the responsibility of filmmakers in portraying violence in movies, and the inevitable results.

Rob Grant and Mike Kovac receive a disturbing fan video inspired by their previous horror movie MON AMI, motivating them to investigate the responsibility of filmmakers in portraying violence in movies. In their pursuit of the truth, they are unwittingly introduced to the real world of violent criminals and their victims.

Co-produced by local Calgary Film alumnus Mike Peterson (director of the 2017 short film selection CONSUME), and stocked with some big talent both behind and in front of the camera, including Vancouver based director Rob Grant (who has earned an assistant editor credit on Hollywood projects such as WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES and THE CABIN IN THE WOODS), FAKE BLOOD is a compelling film that blurs the line between fiction and reality.
