MARY SHELLEY

Mary Shelley

Year 2017
Runtime 120 mins

The real-life story of Mary Shelley, the English writer famed for her book FRANKENSTEIN, and her older husband, poet Percy Shelley.

In the early 1800s, 16-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft was quickly becoming infatuated with one of her father's associates: a poet and philosopher by the name of Percy Shelley. Running away through Europe, suffering terrible tragedies, and ultimately ending in untimely death, MARY SHELLEY is a universal story of the peculiar way in which the heart wants what it wants, no matter the cost.

All star up-and-coming cast including Maisie Williams and Stephan Dillane (both from GAME OF THRONES), as well as Elle Fanning (THE BEGUILED), Douglas Booth (JUPITER ASCENDING) and Bel Powley (DIARY OF A TEENAGE GIRL), Haifaa al-Mansour's latest film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival just weeks before it comes to the screen in Calgary.
