ATB Financial and CIFF announce multi-year partnership

Posted on June 16, 2015

Today the Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF) and ATB Financial are excited to announce a major multi-year partnership that will see ATB Financial as the festival’s exclusive presenting partner for the next three years starting with this year’s 16th Annual festival running Sept. 23 to Oct. 4, 2015. This partnership enhances CIFF’s capacity as an audience festival, which strives to entertain and engage audiences, curate the most innovative and compelling films, and create remarkable festival experiences.

“We’re excited to partner with ATB given their belief in the power of strong communities and the role that the arts play in creating them,” said CIFF Executive Director Steve Schroeder. “We believe that shared cinematic experiences reflect, enrich and broaden our world. With ATB’s support we’ll be able to continue that work.”

The Calgary International Film Festival, a 12-day showcase of up to 200 multi-genre films from Canada and over 40 other countries presented by ATB Financial represents a collaboration between two strong Alberta-based organizations.

This new partnership allows CIFF to build upon the success of the 2014 Festival, which saw attendance reach 28,786, up 42 per cent from the previous year, and a 50 per cent increase in box office revenue setting an all time record.

Like the film festival, ATB Financial is another Alberta success story. The largest Alberta-grown financial institution, ATB Financial works in over 244 communities across the province, serving 710,000 customers.

“Peoples’ stories are a passion ATB Financial shares with CIFF,” said Dave Mowatt, President and CEO of ATB Financial.

“Every day we hear our customers’ experiences, struggles, successes and aspirations. Banking is as much about relationships as it is about interest rates and mortgage calculators. If you don’t take the time to listen to someone’s story, how are you going to help them change their lives for the better?

“That spirit is a big part of why we’ve joined CIFF in bringing the world to Calgary and sharing Calgary with the world. We look forward to seeing everyone this September when CIFF hits the screens.”

Ticket packages and passes for CIFF 2015, which runs Sept. 23 to Oct. 4 are now on sale. Early bird rates are in effect until Aug. 7, 2015.
