CIFF announces LGBTQ content and visiting guests

Calgary, AB — In celebration of Calgary Pride, we're pleased to announce the nine LGBTQ themed shorts and features from around the world listed below. In addition to these films, we’re happy to share that Marco Collins (GLAMOUR & THE SQUALOR), Marc Abraham (I SAW THE LIGHT), Tomi Fujiyama (MADE IN JAPAN) and many others will will be joining us for the festival. FREEHELD Headliner Series (Dir. Peter Sollett)
Based on the Academy Award®-winning short documentary and adapted by the writer of PHILADELPHIA, FREEHELD is the true love story of Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore) and Stacie Andree (Ellen Page) and their fight for justice. LOVE 3D World Cinema Series (Dir. Gaspar Noé)
While facing accidental parenthood, a young man learns that his ex has gone missing in this erotically charged 3D film that debuted at the Cannes Film Festival.

Also announced today were the short films AVILAQ:ENTWINED (Dir. Alethea Arnaquq-Baril ) and TOM IN AMERICA (Dir. Flavio Alves).
