This morning, the Calgary International Film Festival, presented by ATB Financial, announced that at least 40 of the films screening at the festival will be accompanied by filmmakers.

“Our festival offers more than just the opportunity to see films before they are widely released, it's also the chance to interact with filmmakers themselves,” said Steve Schroeder, Executive Director of the Calgary International Film Festival. “Getting to actually meet and talk with the fascinating artists who make these films is a true hallmark of the film festival experience.”

Question and answer sessions during special events will be packed with high-profile talent, including actors Chris Heyerdahl (TIN STAR Episode Release), Jason Jones (In Conversation with Jason Jones) and Melanie Scrofano (Showcase Alberta: Up Close and Interactive with WYNONNA EARP). Calgary screenwriter Jason Filiatrault will be here with his film, ENTANGLEMENT, while Calgary Producer Jason Long will attend his film, ICE BLUE. Meanwhile, guests in attendance include directors from as far away as India (Alankrita Shrivastava, LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA) and Australia (Luke Walker, PACMEN). FAN OF THE YEAR 
New this year, the Calgary International Film Festival presents the Fan of the Year award sponsored by Evans Hunt and Stone-Olafson. This contest celebrates the festivalgoer who sees the most films over our 12-day run. The winner, announced at our Awards Party on Sunday, October 1, will receive a travel voucher from Delta Air Lines worth $1,000.00. Click here for more details.

TICKETS SELLING FAST! 
Due to popular demand packs and passes are almost sold out! Packs and passes will only be available until 11:59 pm on Friday. After that, single ticket purchases only. We've already sold more packs & passes than in all of 2016 combined. Full festival passes, ticket packages and single tickets to all films are now on sale at calgaryfilm.com. The Eau Claire Box Office is also now open. This year’s festival runs from September 20 – October 1.
