CALGARY, AB – Today the Calgary International Film Festival announced its new Artistic Director. After a global search, Calgary Film will welcome Brian Owens in the newly created position, beginning October 16, 2018.

“The creation of the new Artistic Director role is a key part of our strategic plan, and we’ve been planning this exciting addition to our team for the past two years,” said Stephen Schroeder, Executive Director of the Calgary International Film Festival. “In keeping with our mission of curating the most innovative and compelling films and creating remarkable festival experiences, our new Artistic Director Brian Owens will bring increased focus and creativity to the entire festival. Owens will be in attendance at this year’s festival.
